Brainstorm! Wanna help?

I am beyond impressed.

Apply this man’s speech to homelessness.  Apply it to anything you advocate for.  Go ahead, substitute the phrase that evokes passion in you for the phrases Patch Adams uses that describe his visions — can you hear it?

What is your ideal practice?

In sore need of encouragement today I came across this YouTube clip moments ago on www.patchadams.org (Patch Adams, M.D. & Gesundheit! Institute), moments ago.

Again, I am beyond impressed.  I feel motivated.  I feel patted on the back by a kindred soul.  Something I needed intensely.

I view it as a call to action.

What is your ideal practice?

Embedding compassion, play, love and encouragement into my homeless, animal and transform abuse advocacy -- that's a beginning definition of my ideal practice.

How do I put my talents to use, change the world, make a difference, end homelessness, give people a clue about abuse, and bring joy, awareness, balance, and good cheer to my peers on the streets?

I am a spoken word artist — (without the ability to sing, dance or do any of the other things that entertainers are famous for).

How can I take my art to the streets?

Is there a place for non-flashy busking?

How do I make a difference with my abilities: to use spoken word, play, and my talent to focus on an individual — to let them know I am aware of them, and believe in them?

How do I bring to fruition as a spoken word artist the message that I, my peers, my friends, my enemies, anyone in the world, can find their personally satisfying means of resolving their issues?

And in the process we can end homelessness and a vast array of other social ills.

Blast, Fiddlesticks and Arrrrggggghhhhh!

My deadline for submitting a proposal to be a presenter for an unbuyable, invaluable 10 minutes of time with hundreds of other presenters at a conference where the air is filled with the breath molecules of movers and shakers globally is February 3, 2012.

At the moment what I have is a vague brainstorm that isn’t yet describable to others.

I highly recommend you check out this conference -- make time to go in person, tune in online, and spread the word about it.  It's a Make A Difference gathering for transforming worldviews and happens in June, 2012 in New York City

There is no guarantee in anything.

Whether my proposal (once I get it written) is accepted or not -- that's not under my control.

However, this I know from personal experience — if I follow through and keep my focus on what is important to me and I write daily, I will organize the chaos of the brainstorming and pull together the proposal.

However, as with NaNoWriMo last month (November) my initial concept may morph into something else.

I am beyond impressed with Patch Adams, with the Gesundheit! Institute website, and with what I am going to be learning from the people who populate his website and circle of life.

Now that I focus on it, the proposal I need to put together by 2/3/12  has already morphed.

Great gadfrey, that's less than a paragraph! ::grin::

There’s an organization begun by another one of my heroes, Laura Archera Huxley that is local to the southern California area about children: our ultimate investment.  It occurs to me a rework of the same proposal may help me play spoken word, tale-telling, fun, stick figure face painting and other passions with them.

I asked for inspiration, motivation, and encouragement, three hours ago, before I started writing this.  I came across the Patch Adams video you watched above — you did watch it didn’t you?

Wowzerz!

Nurturing of the possible human, whether child or adult …  I’ve been provided with words that express my feelings.

WOWZERZ!

I need help brainstorming at the moment.

One of my heroes (who makes pretend monster faces at me when I call him a hero so I won’t mention any names ‘cuz I’ll just start giggling at the funny faces next time we meet up) uses crowd-sourcing — social media style for brainstorming.  I’m a good learner ::nods, yep, I am, slow, but good:: So …

If you want to help me brainstorm and feel inclined to assist me … I will be checking my facebook and twitter accounts once every two days (e-mail is not a top priority with me at the moment -- however I'll also check it every 48 hours as well, if you feel most comfortable about brainstorming that way).  Please either comment there (the links are at the top right of this blog) or leave a comment in the blogs comment section.

The topics being brainstormed are these:

What is your ideal practice?  I'm willing to return the favor, I'm willing to brainstorm with you.  In fact, I've been told I come up with some of the most outlandish ideas ever to grace the ears of those who let me babble at them.  Brainstorming is about coming up with the fodder to help you take action.

Let's Brainstorm!
